"Today Was A Fairytale"

I'd say it was about 103 degrees at 10:00am while we were shooting, which didn't make things go super smoothly.  It was still an awesome time, and we love our photographer! Strawberry Jude Photography

I have some bummer news for us though, well it's not so bad I guess. Anyways, I wrote a past post about maybe pushing the wedding back, and we have decided to do that. Not sure when the new date is going to be, whatever fits right into our schedule.. maybe winter, spring, or early summer? Not sure yet, but we are so busy right now trying to get our life on track that we are just kidding ourselves thinking that our wedding planning would be finished by October. So we decided on that today. I'm bummed, but it makes since and it's the best thing to do for our family.

Hottest Summer EVER

I say that because i'm typing this as i'm sitting on our front porch (the only play we get WiFi). It is 8pm and this heat is absolutely crazy!! I feel like I start sweating the moment I step out the door, gross. Plus it doesn't really help too much that our air conditioner in the house doesn't work perfectly. Anyways, enough about that.. I got a new job the other day. I will be working in the infant room at Kids Central. I'm so excited about this because it is the perfect job for me while i'm going to college, Abby can even come to work with me which is SO great! I can't wait to feed the little babies, rock them, and play with them.. gonna LOVE it! I am going to miss working at Shine Salon though, that was a really fun experience and I will always go there to get my haircut from now on. haha. So yeah, I start my new job in like two weeks, or less, hopefully less. I'm definately gonna take advantage of this freedom and last little bit of Summer! Also my financial aide for school was approved, so it has been a very good week for me.

Took Abs swimming at Gerald's parents today, we were all wrinkly when we got out from staying in so long, but she had fun like always. Tomorrow morning we are going to take our engagement pictures.. that makes me smile big :) I have been wanting to do this for over 2 years now. I love pretty scenic pictures.. & I think we are going to some cool places, including a sunflower field!

Summer Days Ending So Soon :(

I have to now blow dry and curl her hair almost everyday in order

 for it to all flip under the same way, she loves to have it done though :)

There isn't too much going on right now, just working and trying to savage every last day of summer. It has gone by so fast :( Now on to the stressful time of year - starting school, hopefully gerald will start a great job opportunity soon, plus getting everything done for the wedding. Can't wait for the wedding part though (if we could just get everything planned haha) only THREE months to go, AH makes my mind race and things to do! We truly haven't gotten a thing done, hope we don't have to move our date again, I would be one extremely angry girl -just kidding ;) Truly though, we shouldn't have to post pone it because we are having the smallest wedding ever. Neither one of us want anything big, just simple and sweet. Ceremony (100 or less people), simple flowers, and a small reception with finger foods, cake, beer, and music... not too much right? Thats what I keep telling myself, but nothing seems to be getting accomplished hahaha! We do actually have a venue for the ceremony, bridesmaids dresses picked out, a DJ, & a FREE photgrapher checked off of our list. Yes I said free, I have a friend thats an aspiring photographer and she offered to do our wedding/engagement pictures for free for her portfolio (I guess thats what its for). Anyways, we are so thankful, and plus she takes beautifullll pics! You can check out her blog here. We are going to take our engagement pictures this Sunday, can't wait!!

So thats basically whats going on in our life right now, praying everything falls into place in the next three months :) I'll be posting again soon!

Big-Girl Haircut!

I took Abby to my work today (which i'm loving btw) to get her first real big-girl haircut! She was so excited to go. My cousin Katie came along and we stopped by this boutique next door to my work. They have the cutest kids clothes/accessories and even furniture.. can't think of the name but I could've seriously bought the store out so we didn't stay long. As we were leaving Abby told the employee there "be right back i'm going to get my hair cut".. (she didn't even know her and we weren't coming right back haha). Anyways, she was pretty good while getting her hair done, but she became very shy all of a sudden and didn't speak to any of the people I work with of course.. but thats okay i'm just glad she didn't have a nervous breakdown! Kinda missing the sweet litte baby curls, but i'm hoping to get over that in a few days ;) Although I must say I think her hair is really cute, short, but cute!

Rain, Rain Go Away...

Come again another day! Right now we are in the condo getting showers and resting. We were at the pool but it started raining, we tried to tough it out but the rain was SO cold. It has passed now so i'm hoping it stays pretty for the rest of our 4th of July!! So anyways I don't really feel like explaining our past two days so i'll post about it with pictures :) Here you go:

Happy 4th of July!

We are here at the beach for ours, Gerald's parents have a condo in Sandestin, Florida and it sure is beautiful down here! There are all kinds of things to do because it's like two seconds away from the baytowne wharf (like a little village) with lots of restaurants, bars, tons of stuff for kids, and cool shops. Abby hasn't been since she was six months old so it's basically her first time to really take it all in and she is loving it. Yesterday we went to the beach and there was no sign of oil, just beautiful water and HUGE waves! Everyone was riding the waves, I even gave it a try..usually I NEVER get in the ocean but I went pretty far out. Not for long though I will say because I am not the best wave rider. The first time I walked out there I got a mouth/nose full of salt water and it was GROSS! It was fun to watch the others do it though...

Point Mallard

Today was Abby's first trip to Point Mallard!

She was VERY overwelmed at first, plus it was REALLY crowded -like its amazing how many people go to that place! I would never wait in lines that long if I was a kid haha! Anyways, we went with Gerald's sister, Tasha, and her kids, Kayli and Chase! Their family blog is here.

Over all it was a very fun day and i'm glad we got to go with them! Abby could've just laid on in the wave pool for the rest of the day


but she got VERY cranky and we headed home. Tomorrow it's off to the beach!! Post on that coming up next =)

First Day

So today was my first day at work, I didn't really do much but listen to someone tell me all of my duties, the rules, and they also gave me a tour of the salon, etc. I really think i'm going to love it though and i'm pretty excited to actually getting started doing stuff next week.

On another note, Abby is doing REALLY good this week with potty training. She really wants to wear "big girl panties," so hopefully we are on the road to that. Not having to buy pullups is going to be awesome! I am so proud of her though :)

Oh yeah, we are going to leave for Destin thursday, can't wait! Abby is so so excited, she keeps telling everyone she's going to the beach and she's going to see the ocean and build sand castles! This will be the first time she has gone since she was six months old. Also i'm excited because the 4th is extra special to me, it's my pawpaw's birthday. He was my favorite person and I love to remember him when all of the fireworks are going off, but the down side of that is when the fireworks are going off it also gets me emotional too.. but a happy emotional I guess you could say haha! Anyways, i'm really looking forward to this weekend and will try to post all about it, along with some good pictures!

I'm A Horrible Blogger

This is going to be a boring update because I still have no camera, & hate blogging without pictures.

So I have an update.. got a job at Shine Salon, my favorite salon in Decatur since highschool.. so i'm so excited about that! I'll post more on that after I start. Abby is growing faster and faster, she amazes me everyday at the things she says. Oh my gosh like when she said a cuss word the other day copying my cousin. I asked Abby what our neighbors name was, then Katie mumbled "dumb ass," really quietly. Then Abby said "Thats dumb ass." We could not help but bust out laughing, so Abby continued to say it (thinking it was funny).. Finally I was able to get serious and explain that it was a bad word which she wasn't too happy about! Another update is that i'm starting school this fall at Calhoun, i'm very excited but also even more nervous. Working, planning a wedding, being a mommy, AND going to school (plus without a car) is going to be a HUGE change for me and Gerald (he is going to start school in January). Especially when I still haven't gotten anything done for the wedding, it stresses me out thinking about wedding plans. We might not be able to have a reception because we just don't have the money for it (I seriously never knew weddings were SO expensive it's ridiculous). Maybe something will work out so we can have it but it's not looking good (the court house is starting to sound like a really great idea!!) Enough about that because my mind is starting to get stressed about it by just typing it haha.  Anyways, I think we are going camping tomorrow night in Tennessee, maybe! I will post about it if we do, wish I was able to take picturs though!

Kidless

Gosh I never write on here anymore...it's just no fun with no camera to post pictures, but i'm trying haha! Anyways, this weekend we are kidless, we met gerald's sister in Jasper yesterday for her to go spend the weekend with them in Birminghamd. I miss her but I know Abby is having a blast, she loves Christen and Ben (and of course all of the rest of the family) haha but she was so excited to go she kept saying "so exciting!", "oh my goodness". Abby is talking SO much now and its pretty clear to understand most of the time, she is getting so smart! She is just the sweetest little thing her favorite color is purple... she lovesss to say "oh my goodness" (like prissy with her hand over her mouth). She also loves to fake laugh, that is also another prissy thing she does. OH and I wish I had a picture of her new bad habbit.. I don't know how but somehow she has learned to like stick her little booty out, shake it, and pat her butt, and pose like she's taking a picture... the first time she did it I could not help but laugh so of course now she thinks its funny and always does it.. my friend Krista has a picture I will have to get one from her to embarrass her when she's older ;)

Anyways, since we didn't have a kid last night we took advantage of going out with friends we haven't hungout with in a while.. we went to Maria Bonitas, the bowling alley, and Clay Womack's house. Me and Gerald never go out, so it was a bad idea to drink alot..but we did and i'm not feeling so great this morning. Hope it gets better by later today so we can get things done!
