Flash Back: Passing Through Decatur

I know I've already mentioned going to New York/New Jersey, but I didn't post on our short stop through Decatur. So, on our way up north we stopped and spent the night in Decatur. I have a few pictures from that trip (some are not mine) that I wanted to post. There wasn't much time to take them because it was all so rushed. We ended up opening Christmas gifts while there, since we were in New York for Christmas this year.

Here are the pictures:

Flash Back: Thanksgiving 2012

I've missed a lot of memorable posts at the end of 2012 because we had to sale our laptop. Now I can catch up on all of that!! Goodness looking back, 2012 sure was a VERY eventful year for our family, but we'll never forget everything we went through to get where we're going. First off, we're so thankful to our old roommate, Rim. Who's one of Gerald's coworkers that lives in a huge house in Lake Forest, which is in Daphne, AL where we were living. I'm sure I posted on that, but I just wanted to say how much he helped us with renting out a little studio apartment below his house. His wife and daughter are back in Lithuania, so he had the place to himself, and he treated us like family. We had access to everything, and not many people will do that for you. I just can't wrap my head around it, but I do know that we took away a new found love of helping people, and will pass it forward whenever we can. Because we know what it's like to need a helping hand sometimes. God has really got us through SO much this past year, and I have witnessed so much that sometimes... I just didn't think we'd get through. I mean literally we would just be SO depressed and stressed out about thing, but somehow and someway He got us through. SO grateful!

Well I guess I should get to that "Flash Back" of Thanksgiving that I planned haha..

The holidays this year were a lot different because we were alone, and not spending them with our families. So for Thanksgiving we ended up making a memory we'll always have of eating at Cracker Barrel with just our little family of four! It was different, much more quiet and eventful, but it's a memory! The food didn't compare, but hey at least (hopefully) it's the only year we'll be eating at a restaurant ;). More on that to come!

Here are some pictures of our day that day. It do remember that is was beautiful, as always on the gulf coast!

NYC

12-12-12 Cole turned ten months old, and it sure was a memorable ten month mark for our family!! On December 10th we arrived in New Jersey for Gerald's new job (more on that later), and on 12/12/12 we decided to go tour Manhattan, NY!! So we went down to the New Brunswick station, and road the New Jersey Transit train an hour up to the big city! Gerald has been on a train before, and to NY, but this was mine and the kids first time. It was really the best experience I've had in my life! We all loved it, and I was in shock taking it all in, haha. Small Decatur, AL to NYC is a big change! We arrived at Penn Station, which is under Madison Square Garden, and from there we walked (more like ran/got trampled over) for what seemed like miles. Abby got to take her picture with Minnie Mouse, other characters, and go in ToysRus. Which was of course her favorite, and probably one of mine too ;) She had such a good time, and was SO good!! (Side note: I am so proud of the beautiful big girl that she's growing into! :))

We also walked around Times Square, AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. We saw the Empire State Building, Macy's (and stores/buildings like that), then ended at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree! It was BEAUTIFUL, and we even witnessed a proposal on the ice rink below us!! Something I will never forget! Unfortunately, my camera died right before the proposal =(

We are going name back soon to Soho area, China Town, Central Park, and the Twin Towers memorial! There is so much to see and explore! Luckily, we live even closer now.

I have TONS of pictures! I just have to figure out how to add them. Maybe my next post will be of only pictures, because that's the only way I can do it right now. =/

Oh and maybe I should mention that tonight is Christmas Eve, and we're in a hotel in Long Island, NY!! I'll do a post on the kids Santa, and why we moved to NJ, then NY very soon!! Life is definitely crazy right now, but we know God knows what he's doing :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
