Spring Fever

We have definitely taken advantage of the beautiful weather that has been around lately! I think that's why we love the gulf coast so much. It's so much fun, beautiful, and hardly ever too too cold. We even road along on Daddy's off day this Sunday to Gulf Shores (where he is working his routes right now..praying he will be in Mobile asap). We aren't allowed to go, but this was a super quick thing he had to drop by. The customer was soo sweet and Abby met her a few little friends. The couple had a similar career when moving down here, and offered some valuable school, housing, and just good advice. (That we didn't even ask for haha..all Gerald mentioned was we weren't from the coast.) People are soo sweet here!

Anyways, so it was good to see the beach, beautiful weekend. Even prettier week ahead. Here are some pictures of my sweet kiddos!! Cole is 13 months and Abby is of course 5 and one month (as she says now that she has heard me saying that for Cole;))

P.s. There is a picture below of Abby at one year, and Cole in comparison. They can't deny each other when they're older, and I love it! :)

Please keep our family in your prayers, specifically that Gerald lands a welding jobs. He has applied to many now it's the waiting game/keeping on at it at the same time. Things are looking very hopeful though. God has a plan and loves us! He is so good! I hate that we can't continue to go to Epic Church in Decatur, but let me tell yah watching online service is the highlight of my week!

Have a beautiful week/spring break for some of you :)

Jesus Calling

I still can't believe the last few months have felt like a dream. One thing after the next. We didn't like New York, Tennessee, or New Jersey at ALL. So we feel so much at home back in south Alabama. We will officially be back in Daphne in one more week. Right now we're staying an hour out to because of Gerald's current, new, job. Long story short...never go into cable. Everyone we have met, including his boss now has had many similar circumstances that Gerald has experienced.

Anyways, God has a plan, and has made things happen this year when honestly I thought nothing was going to, and I'm learning to put ALL my trust into Him! The book Jesus Calling is amazing, and has helped me realize a lot the past week I've been reading it. Highly recommend it!

As I've talked about all of February (and maybe January too ;)) My babies turned five and one! I still can't believe it! I wish I had taken pictures of Cole's first party/cake and small gathering (that he slept through lol) and Abby's present opening/ritual candle fear haha bless her shy heart, but the party didn't go quite as planned, unfortunately, and we had a fun day. I hadn't planned to need my camera, or I would have brought one. Anyways, we'll get good pictures and be much more prepared next year. It will be super fun here at the beach, since Abby will have met her little kindergarten buddies, and Cole will have daycare buddies too! ;)

Speaking of school I can't wait to enroll her somewhere! Baldwin County schools are great so any would be a pretty much equal choice. Gerald has a welding test for one of the biggest companies in Mobile this week! If he gets it, he will start within weeks, get benefits and all the things our family needs!! The hiring boss sounds very excited so please keep this opportunity in your prayers. It would really mean a lot to our kiddos :)

Nashville

Last Saturday, January thirteenth, we arrived in Tennessee! Gerald took a job here in Nashville. We'll we're actually staying in a hotel in a town right outside called Hendersonville, right now. It's a really cute town with awesome shopping and food! Also, everyone has told us that the schools here are great. So we may end up getting a place here, just have to do more research and figure it all out. We were set on the idea of actually living in Nashville, but now that we see we're not far from the city, I guess it really doesn't matter. Anyways, that reason we left New York was basically because God really just didn't want us there. We were extremely stressed, and it seems like literally every day something was going wrong. We had the WORST luck! When the option of even going up north came up, we planned to not stay very long anyways, and made sure that if we wanted to turn around the next day that we could. So Gerald's bosses were very understanding about it all, and suggested we go somewhere close to home. Nashville came up as an option, and we were SO excited! It's a perfect mix of the city/country, close to home, and a great place for the kids to settle down. We've been traveling a lot this year, and want nothing more than to be in our own home. Forever. Haha! Living in hotels won't happen again. We're looking for a place now, and hopefully will be in one no later than a month. So that's really exciting!!! Our stress level and life seem much easier already (we should of known we couldn't leave the South)! ;)

Abby has already made her first visit home with family. Last Wednesday we dropped her off with my mom, and she went from there to visit and spend time with everyone else. She had a blast, and even got teary eyed when they got ready to go. She doesn't quite understand that visits will be much more often now that we're only a couple of hours away, and not a year apart. Hopefully she'll be back soon for their birthdays. Which are coming up soon!! I can't believe my little girl will be FIVE in just 11 more days, and then Cole will be ONE on the 12th! It's a lot to handle. Here come the school years!

Okay now I'm pretty much caught up, other than the next post of our first date night in one year. :)

Flash Back: Christmas 2012 in Long Island, New York

Christmas was SO different this year! We were in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY. Much more laid back, but we tried our best to make it special. On Christmas Eve we had to drive to New Brunswick, NJ, to pick up the Santa presents. It snowed a light snow, but it was so pretty especially since it was the night before Christmas!! We even got to make made some snowballs! When the kids went to sleep, we snuck out to the car to grab the packages, and snuck them into the room, trying our best not to wake them up. Usually it's not that hard, because Abby is in her room, and not RIGHT beside the tree. hahaha it's was pretty funny! Anyways, the kids had a lot of fun opening presents. We ate at the best Chinese place EVER for lunch. Which was pretty different, and then had Pizza for dinner. haha!

Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve/Day:
