Cousins

I just stole a few pictures from Gerald's sister, couldn't resist. Her family came down to Fairhope at the first of June for a wedding. So miss Abby got to go and spend some time with her little cousin, Mary Hyatt. She had a blast at the Grand! It's right down the street from our house, and it worked out really well for a quick reunion between them. I just loved the pictures and wanted to share them!

They are to the age where they actually can play really well together! They even argue sometimes haha! What are girls for though? ;)

Quality Time

Here lately we've been spending a lot of quality family time. Life is getting back to normal here lately, and I'm loving it! Seems like this year was a huge blur and disaster, but that's all in the past. Cole is getting so smart now!! Me and his Daddy will d say "Where is your diapers?" "Where is your shoes?" "Want to take a bath?" "Want to go outside?" "Will you throw this in the trash?". Lol he will go point to his diapers, get his shoes out of the closet, go in the bathroom and try to get in the tub, walk to the door to go outside, throw trash in the trash can - which can be nice ;), and so on..Let me just say though... We have the loudest baby boy EVER. Ever!! No joke haha! We love him so much though :)

He also is eating so much better now on his own. We can put him in his high chair and he does it all by himself. Some of his favorites right now are: Bananas, Beefaroni (spell check?), spaghettio's, spaghetti, basically any pasta, fruit, cheesy bread, peas, green beans, and he loves gummies!! He's not really too picky right now.

Abby has been having a blast here lately too. Me and her Daddy have started going running in the evenings so she likes to go down with us and watch. If my mom is working then we'll just take both of the kids for a stroll to the pier and watch all the people fish! It's a good time ;) A girl I work with is actually about to give Abby a big girl hair cut. A grown up graduated bob type style, except on a child. Abby's actually going to her first birthday party to be invited to in Fairhope this weekend! Her friends that I've posted pictures of before, Emma & Isabella. She should have lots of fun!

Fun Weekend

These pictures are from when our friends, Derek and Michael, came to stay with us in mid-June. It ended up being a really fun week! We went to the beach, a few bars, out to eat, and even grilled out! We love having company, and can't wait for them to come back sometime! :)

Fun Times

The Fairhope pier is so much fun, and SO pretty to fish at! Always crowded, and sailboats/boats out on the water! Their is also a public bay beach with a park that is really neat!

 Pretty Abigail <3 br="">

 We were down at the pier by our house the other day and the beach was FULL of ducks. It was so neat to see. They would all walk in a line, get in the water one by one (or side by side whatever), and swim over to the other side of the beach to get right back out in a line. I don't know, one of those things you had to be there to see to appreciate it. Really neat though! ;)

 Abby's little friends have been coming over a good bit lately to play. We usually watch them for their daddy since their mama just left. It's a heartbreaking situation, especially when they start talking about it. We try to just distract them by saying she'll come around sooner or later, or something like that. I mean what do you say when a child says "mommy wants out of the marriage". They are so precious and they're the best of friends with Abby!

 

 We also just got this tiny pool for hot days. Abby is too old to really enjoy it anymore, but Cole is in love, haha!

 

It's been a great start to this summer :)

Hello from Africa

Lol JUST kidding, but it certainly feels like it on the Gulf right now! Lord it's HOT and HUMID!! We actually have friends down this week/weekend from north Alabama. Gerald has taken them fishing today on the pier, and we're going to have some drinks tonight at a local karaoke bar. Then tomorrow and Saturday we're heading to the beach for some fun and more hotness! ;)

Life has been treating us pretty well lately. We're just steadily getting back on our feet after the whole New York/Jersey disaster. We're still living by the bay, and it seems like times flying by to when Abby starts kindergarten. We have started a little school shopping, but mostly just planning on what all she will need. There is so much and I'm afraid we'll miss something. I know she will be okay, and do great though! :)

 

Hmm... Let's see, Cole is now 16th months old. He's ALL over the place! We call him the little Tasmanian Devil. Lol, he destroys everything in his path. You give him a crayon, and he's straight to the walls (that kinda thing). Haha and boy does Cole have a set of lungs. He will just scream and scream until he gets what he wants. Which we are steadily working on to break that habit. His Mawmaw may or may not have something to do with that spoiled little boy ;)! Other than his new found confidence, Cole's quickly growing up. He's the cutest and sweetest thing! Him and his big sister play so well now, and it's the best thing to watch. He wants to do everything she does. Me and Gerald always crack up at him because he is seriously the funniest little guy ever. He is just like his daddy in so many ways.

My mom recently moved down to Fairhope with us. She is working here part-time now, but she mainly came so we would have a family member close by. Just someone to call if we ever need anything or have an emergency. When you know you don't have anyone there you except six hours away, it gets very stressful sometimes. My mom is living with us until she is able to move into her own place, and it has been really nice. We love having a family member here, and she loves Fairhope and her grandbabies! So it works out nicely haha! ;)

We do a lot of fishing around here, and the pier is just right down the street from us so it's really convenient. Also, Abby recently got to visit with Gerald's sister's family. They visited Fairhope, and actually stayed down the road from us for their friend's wedding at the Grand. So Abby got to go spend the night with her cousin, and she had lots of fun.

I'll post pictures from our weekend at the beach sometime next week.. (If I can manage to keep up with this thing!)

Cole's First Haircut and Update

 I caved to Daddy and got Cole's hair cut last month. I swore it wouldn't happen, but I have to say he looks much better. (Picture at the bottom.)

I don't have much time so I'm going to list some things I want to remember he's doing at (basically) 15 months old.
Cole loves to slide and go to the park now.
He is waving and saying "buh buh" (Bye Bye) SOOO cute! He will even shut the door on you while saying it and waving his cute little "ocean wave, wave" Was that confusing  enough? I will remember at least, ha ha!
He says Mama, Dada, ABBAH, Nana, Tattoo and points to it (I know, awful, didn't think he would pick that up though. Oops!)
Hmm lets see, he will now hand you thanks and say "tay tew" (Thank you)
He is eating just about everything except meats yet, other than hamburger meat.
He loves chili, macaroni, eggs, BANANAS (he'll take a huge chunk and chew it up), soft carrots, baby yogurt, ice cream (duh!), mashed potatoes, and all that good stuff!
He knows now when we go into the bathroom nakey that it's bathtime and he lifts his leg as though to get into the tub.
OH! He has learned to "jump". He bends down, and stands up real fast while throwing/jerking his hands in the air. He does this while walking all over the house. It's hilarious.
We also have a biter, hitter, and bad boy on our hands... lol he's funny though. Love him!
He loves to dance, and has a little thing he does where he looks like he is tap dancing around super fast stomping his feet. Then during slow songs he sways back and forth, and he also does the "baby booty bounce"! :)

He is growing up so fast, and saying words left and right now. Today he blew me a kiss, just once, but he did it!! Ha ha, We absolutely love you Cole Thomas Newsom :) 

Spring Time

We have loved living in Fairhope and here are some pictures of the pretty weather we've been having lately.

 We've been using this little baby a lot lately. It doesn't fail to amaze, and neither does Gerald's cookin'. :)
