I could hardly believe the pregnancy test when it read positive on June 28, 2011. I was absolutely shocked, and thank God for Gerald and Abby's big smiles to keep me from probably fanting. After THREE long months of holding in this secret, it feels like I can finnaly breath normally again. I can't really explain it, but not sharing the news of the pregnancy, your fears, and concerns is so hard on a prenant person. Well in my case anyway. Abby is very excited to be a big sister, and ask to talk to the baby almost everyday. I will actually be 13 weeks this Friday, and time seems to be flying by. Can't believe I'm already three months along!
Today is also Gerald's, my fiance's, 23rd birthday!! So happy birthday to him, I love you so much! I guess I will also share the big news about him going to boot camp in January, for thirteen weeks, to become a MARINE. I'm terified, but really excited at the same time. Because he is not doing what you expect marines do, kill kill kill. He is actually going for a very good career, and will not be doing an infantry job, I made that very clear with his recruter. The downside of him leaving for boot camp in January, is that he will miss the birth of the baby, and have no way of communication to know that the baby was born. So I have decided to find a doctor that will let me record EVERYTHING, and mail pictures overnight to him as soon as the baby is born. It's very bittersweet, because we want him there so bad, but we also want this career for him and our growing family. Probably the absolute hardest decision we've made in our lives, and ever will make.
Happy Birthday Gerald!!

The Hotel Life
It has been a while since I have updated on our life. Probably because I have no charger for my charger, and without any pictures I am not a very motivated blogger. Really need to work on getting a charger asap because it is a great quality camera, and Abby is growing up too fast. Today she covered up one of my eyes and said, "Now you look like a captain." It was sooo cute! I fall more in love wih her everyday. Here lately its crossed my mind many times of how close we are going to be when she is older. I think of that because Abby has got the most grown up attitude lately, the way she walks, talks, helps out, looks at us, everything. Something about it is just so grown up and prissy, lol. She is still sweet as ever, but it definitely makes me squeeze her harder, give her lots of kisses, and hold her in my arms as much as possible. We have been staying in an extended stay hotel for a week now, and will be here for 3 weeks total. The ninth couldn't come any quicker! That is when Gerald's gets paid, and we get to pick out a new home (well apartment, or townhouse). Even though this isn't a bad hotel it is a studio room, and so tiny. So we will be glad to get in a new place that we can make feel like home. Abby is probably the only one who has loved the hotel life. She loves saying hey to all the neighbors, and being close to mommy and daddy all the time. Yesterday, she had a blast at Delano Park's Splash Pad. That place sure is a good way to cool down in this crazy heat!! Speaking of heat, I can't wait for Fall and football season to get here. One because it's my favorite time of year, and two I will finally be married to Gerald, and share his and Abs last name =). It is getting close, Summer is quickly coming to an end, along with school thank God. I will be happy to have a few weeks of freedom before Fall semseter starts back up, and it will be the most classes I've taken at once so far. Four total, one on campus and three online. I am nervous as can be!!
Well I'm going to get off of here so dinner can get started, and to work on my finals. Wish I had some pictures to document, but maybe we'll see about that after the move =).

The Fourth
We spent the Fourth of July weekend by the pool at home (Gerald's parent's house). The weather was perfect and so was the water. On the fourth me, Gerald, and Abby went out to the Spirit of America festival to watch the beauty pagent and fireworks. Abby actually even found a friend from her old school sitting right next to us. So they had a BLAST dancing around and acting like little beauty queens (Abby is going through a beauty queen stage. Too much Toddler and Tiaras?!). I'm Glad she got to have some fun with a friend though. The fourth was also my Papaw's birthday that past away when I was in elementary school. So I thought a lot of him that day. Overall it was a fun and relaxing weekend.
(Here are some pictures of Abby dressed up in red, white, and blue with her pretty curls.) =)
Look at this little cutie, Mary Hyatt, which was also here for the weekend!
My birthday was yesterday (I am twenty now, not a teen!), and Gerald really showed me such a great time last night!! I also loved the gifts from everyone. More on my birthday fun later though.

Moving.
This weekend is going to be a tough one for us. We will be moving out of our third story apartment.Yikes right?! I am absolutely dreading it, and I'm sure Gerald is too. He hurt his knee pretty bad yesterday morning. While getting out of bed he stood up, and his right leg (the one he's had ACL surgery and other things removed from) was still asleep. It immediately popped backwards and sideways, dropping him to the floor. It was so loud I woke from my sleep to see him on the floor in major pain. It was awful, and I felt so bad for him. Poor baby =(. So I don't think me and him moving all of our stuff on our own is going to be a good time, but we HAVE to be out by then. One good thing we can focus on is being able to move into a new place within the next week or so. As long as we can find a cute rental we both love thats a reasonable price. The sooner the better. Oh, and guess what!?! We have decided to move to Hartselle!!! I am so excited, and Gerald is too. After all it was his idea. I can't wait to start fixing up our own place, and be in a new city. Even if it is close by it's still new to us. And, Hartselle is so cute with that country kind of feel to it that we both love. So basically the next couple of weeks are going to be super busy for us.
We have also started to plan our wedding which is so much fun. It is going to be super simple, cheap, and DIY. I've already got my dress, now I am starting on the DIY fun stuff. Each pay check Gerald gets, I get a wedding allowance to go get things to make my decoration ideas for the reception (which will be in a family members backyard). I love that it's going to be in a backyard during the Fall, it is my favorite time of year. We have decided on October 7th, which is only three months and two weeks away!! Not long at all. If anyone has any christmas lights, mason jar, small white candles, old wooden 2 by 4 scraps, fishing line, a chocolate fountain, and karioki machine we can have/borrow.. it would be GREAT! Contact me if you can be any help with those items.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Please pray that we have an easy move this weekend, for Gerald's knee to get better, the weather cooperates with us, and we are able to find the perfect place for us in Hartselle. =)

No Camera
Wow, it has been too long since I have updated this blog. My car was broken into a couple of months ago, and unfortunately someone stole my camera. I still get so upset when thinking about it. How do you break into someone's belongings, go into their purse, and throw it on the side of the fence? Makes me cringe. Karma will get them though. Anyways, I will give an update on Abby. She has absolutely hit the attitude stage. I thought the terrible two's were bad, but boy was I wrong. No one ever told me there was a terrible three's too?!?! LOL. I'm just kidding, I love you Abby, but you are kind of a handful right now. Things are starting to get better, but for a while there she really acted about thirteen towards me and Daddy. Now I will brag some on her so she doesn't hate me for saying that when she is older ha ha. Her speech is really getting better, and she is so smart. I am staying at home with her right now, so I get to enjoy every minute of her day. Today I was talking to her about me and Daddy's wedding (yes, we're finally getting married), and she said, "I'm not ever getting married. I want to be a baby forever." Ha ha I thought it was the cutest thing. Then I asked her if she would marry Justin Beiber. After seriously thinking about it, she said, "No way!". Ha ha..Abby is really a lot of fun at this age, even if there is a slight attitude. We have had a blast swimming this summer...... welllllll sometimes. Since we are currently living with Gerald's parents, we have a huge pool in our backyard, which is amazing. However, for some reason Abby has been terrified of the water this summer, and she will not get off of the steps. The only time she has enjoyed swimming this summer, was at Point Mallard last week. Gerald, my mom, and I took her to play for the day, and she had so much fun. She swam in the Wave pool by herself, the Olympic pool, and even went down the slides. It was a great time, me and Gerald even had a blast going down all of the big slides. It had been a while.
So a little update on me. Like I said, I am staying at home with Abby right now, but my days are not a piece of cake. I am constantly doing school work, or taking care of her. Not sure if I've posted about spring semester yet, but I finished with all A's and have a 4.0. I'm sure no one cares, but it makes me so proud considering I dropped out of school after tenth grade!! Right now I'm taking a Math class that is hybrid so I have to go to class twice a week from 5:30-7:30, but all of my work is done online. Makes no sense to me. ha ha. And, I am also taking a completely online English class. The English class is pretty easy.. all I have to do is write five compositions, and I'm done. Although they do all have to be 300-500 words, and one is a research paper, which I have never written in my life. I'm learning summer classes are definitely harder and take more discipline, but overall I am still doing good.
An update on me and Gerald. We have started going to Epic Church, and it is doing some amazing things in our lives. I know it sounds crazy since we have only been going for a couple of months, and just became members of the Dream Team two weeks ago. But, we have really changed! I am so much happier, and I cannot believe how much better our relationship is. We still have our moments like every other couple our age, but our connection and care for each other has grown a lot! Like for instance, Gerald asked me last week if I wanted to go ahead and get married, and he had talked with the church about it. Turns out it is free to get married there, and we are going to do it! We're going to pay for everything extra ourselves, well actually I can't take that credit because Gerald is the one working to pay for it. I wish I could help out, or my mom had a lot of money, OR even my Dad had stuck around and been there for me. When it comes to stuff like this I really get sad about not having him in my life. But, I am so THANKFUL for Gerald because he really wants to pay for it and doesn't mind at all. We are going to keep it simple, family and close friends, a small do it yourself reception, and spend the majority of money on our honeymoon (which I'm excited to see what all he plans for that). As of right now we are shooting for the beginning of August, but we still need to meet with the church to discuss the date and details. I cannot wait to become Mrs. Tiffany Newsom!!! :) Ahhh!! It's about time, oh and this time there is no way we're pushing it back. Lol..Gerald says if the wedding doesn't happen by the date we set, I can leave him. (He was KIDDING of course, because I would NEVER do that lol)
Wow! This was a really long post ha ha..and I will try to keep this updated as often as possible. Hoping to also post some pictures in a little while.

Easter Weekend
We had a really relaxing Easter weekend. Recently we moved into Gerald's parents house to rack up some savings in the bank. So we have been around his family a lot here lately, which is nice. The Saturday before Easter we went to his nephew, Chase's, baseball game at Pointe Mallard ballfields. He is really a great player, and there team is still undefeated to this day. (I am pretty sure that is right?) Abby had a great time watching him, and we all love going to his games. This one was great though because the whole family was there, and right when we walked up Chase hit a homerun!! I have heard he has had quite a few homeruns this season. Definetely sounds like all-star material to me=) Here are some pictures of that game, and another night game we have gone to.
After the game, we hit some balls at the batting cages. I hear from everyone Gerald was a REALLY good baseball player back in the day. I always tease him about how we could be rich if kept it up, and went pro. ;)
After Chase's game, everyone came over for dinner. We spent a lot of time on the back patio, and the kids played until dark. They also dyed eggs, and this was Abbys first year to dye eggs. She did a good job, and really loved it. Who doesn't like dying eggs?
Aren't they the cutest cousins ever? Pretty soon there will be another little girl in there. (Christen's baby) How exciting!
Now on to Easter day:

Abby and her Great Grandaddy, so sweet.

On Easter morning we went to the service at Epic Church. We have visited this church over six times now, and we absolutely love it there! Everything is so layed back, and there motto is "No perfect people aloud". Ha ha. I really like that, because we are for sure not perfect people. They also have an awesome band, and great preacher. The things he talks about are so relatable. After church, we came home and hunted the eggs the Easter Bunny hid for Abby. Here are some pictures:

Playing Catch Up
I have been slacking very badly on my blog here lately. So therefore I am going to be doing some catching up. One exciting thing that I haven't posted about yet is Gerald's sister, Christen's, baby shower! Basically my sister-in-law because we are basically married lol. So I figured that would be a good place to start catching up.
The shower was SO cute, and everything was very girly, of course, because that is what she's having. Her due date is coming up fast, and I cannot wait to meet the sweet baby girl! I will let my pictures do the rest of the talking.

Is that watermelon not so cute? His other sister, Tasha, made it at home! Tasha is super creative.
Abby being silly before the shower started.

Real Earrings!!
Abby got her ears pierced yesterday, Sunday, March 13th, 2011. She sat in my lap, and harldy even flinched (actually I don't even remember her even flinching). They look super cute, and she loves them! Yayy Abby:)
Sitting and waiting on the piercing lady to get ready.
Making the marks on her ears before she pierced them. This was a long process lol, because mommy was kind of picky. ;)
One down, one to go!
All done! Such a big girl!
Of course she got a bunch of prizes for being brave, and that made her so happy! Her ears are doing great so far, and they are not even red. Lets pray they stay like this! =)xoxo,
Tiffany

Painting.
Abby is getting a "big girl room". Seriously, the baby bed is down =(. Including all of the furniture, I am starting from scratch! My aunt kim made her a DIY cloth headboard to go above a twin size frame/mattress (still working on that though). Today I painted an ugly glass picture frame with chalkboard paint. That stuff is so cool, and I also painted her new drawers!!
Here are some pictures:
Here are some pictures:
and after.
So that previous pic, is a picture of the overall progess so far on her room. Can you tell I just started today? The other side is so empty right now. Her new bookshelf will be here tomorrow, and the bed in the next week or so. There is still so much to do, like pictures, paintings, etc. Here are a couple more pics of some wood I just painted on for fun, but they turned out being kinda cute.
"Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart"- Pooh. =)
